No, a corporate number is issued by the state. In California it is issued by the Secretary of State when a corporation files their articles of incorporation.
The TIN is issued by the IRS to identify a company when they incur and pay taxes.
I can’t imagine they’d need the Corporate ID. Charitable contributors would need the tax ID.
Yes-corp id is the same as corp #. The state has a separate state tax id # as well and possibly a state license number but those are used only for state filing purposes.
The number you need to put on correspondence for charitable contribution receipts is the Federal tax ID number. this is not necessarily the same as state tax ID or state business license ID etc.
